We are repainting a room in our house a sort of a bluish grey. What would you recommend for decor? I was thinking red or street light blue. (Also, the trim/door color is called Pure White)
dark purple!
or butter yellow
It all depends on what effect you are going for. If you are looking for a warmer space which is recurrently more inviting, then go beside tones like red, orange, and pallid. If you are going for a cooler more relaxing area go near the light blue. There are many variation on "red" or "light blue" and different shades to choose from.
My suggestion:
Poppy red is lovely paired with stoney grey and white. It is well-dressed and modern. You can include splashes of green as well to soften the space. Think florals matched beside geometric patterns.
Good luck redecorating!
Answers: First, what type of lighting does the room have?
Why don't you include an diction wall with a different color. So you make it interesting.
as a rule rooms beside very little lighting should be painted with heat up tones.(yellow, red, orange)
and rooms in the South (closer to the equator) with plenty of lighting could be painted next to cool tones( green, blue)
overall, grey looks good next to a thaw out tone like yellow, ginger, earth tones, cream. etc
Also, what color is the furniture?
you need to administer more information
U R within luck! Grey go will go next to almost any color..Remember blue and grey are colors of the ole south. navy/purple
I am redo our laundry room soon and am planning on painting the walls gray as well. I am picking up the turquoise color from the nearest bathroom and the sand colored floor tile...it will be kinda beachy ..sophisticated beachy. I have pewter light fixtures and hardware as in good health as curtains that have multi-width stripes in grey, turquoise, light brown, black and white...kinda barcode looking. All the trim is bright white. On the walls I am putting some photos I took of sea shells and sea lions...greys and browns. I dream up it's a good combo...especially if you like the "seaside cottage" type of look. I am thinking about making some driftwood shelves to go along beside it. If I weren't limited by the adjacent rooms I would own gone with grey walls with turquoise (not the pastel but bold topical turquoise), red and orange accents!! ..consider poppies by the sea. Red.
Unless it's a really BLUE-ish grey. In that case, I'd turn with either a buoyant blue or a navy blue (depending on if the grey is light or dark)
