I am moving with my own flesh and blood into a small townhouse so I can go to private academy. We would nicely remodel the underground store for me, but I can't come up with lots decoration plans/ideas. I'm an intellectual, I dislike girly, lacy rooms but also really loud, colorful ones. What do you suggest?
How give or take a few a travel themed room. You could have adjectives sorts of artwork from places where you might resembling to go: Paris, New York City, San Francisco, Venice, London, etc. You could swing pictures, like these:

And later you could also find lots of figurines of The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Empire State Building, etc. You could gather lots of travel books for your bookshelves.
Paint could be a nice reheat neutral, approaching "sticks & stones" by sherwin williams, so that any color of bedding or artwork you choose will be the focal point - not the wall color.
Ok, you don't want too girly or too loud,
Stay near the neutreal colors, tan, light brown, browns, maybe peach, salmon, or sand, their adjectives fairly soft but indistinct.
You could also use a burgandy color, whatever appeals to you.
Use lots of texture surrounded by the furnishings, you know, tweeds, knobby knits, berber, the more texture the better, since the colors are rather bland, you'll need to expound on texture.

I did my bedroom in a castle matter...Painting blocks on the wall with 2 different greys....since you might hold block in the basement(?) basically outline the blocks and sponge on a darker grey than what you painted the wall...it looks awesome when finished and sophisticated also.....you can also make it gothic if thats what you'd close to....I bought a burgandy with gold ingots thread bedspread and pane drapes.....I love it!
