Tell me what you think about these theme...
Kitchen--black, white, and silver/chrome
Bathroom--darkish red, darkish blue, and white
Livingroom--teal, brown and white OR cream
Bedroom--I'm kinda undecided on this one, I was thinking oranges, cremes, and yellows
Answers: Kitchen: black, white and silver are fine. You might be rather better off with black and cream so it doesn't look too '80s. There's a fine splash there, be careful. It can also depend on the paraphernalia and if you are planning to use black and white flooring too.
Bathroom: Sounds a little patriotic. If you do hold some americana type accessories, use cream instead of white. If that is not the judgment you are picking those colors, maybe change them. Dark room colors are awesome except if this is a bathroom that you go and get ready in. The shade colors could make you think you look different than you do. Then you step outside on a sunny daytime and people are pointing and laughing at you, especially if you wear make-up. Otherwise they might be pointing and laughing at your girlfriend. If this is not a 'get in place in' bathroom, go with one of the dimness colors, but maybe just pick one.
Livingroom: Teal, brown and white/cream engineer a nice look. FYI: they tend to have that 'vintage/retro' look when used together. Make sure thats the look you want.
Bedroom: Don't use yellow and ginger, pick one. Otherwise it might be harde to find stuff that goes. There are some awesome orange colors out at hand these days-brownish based ones. I don't have my paint-dex handy, but Behr have a nice color called IcedTea that I have used surrounded by everything from livingrooms to kitchens to bedrooms for clients. And even not Iced Tea exactly, but if you go to Home Depot and find it, you'll know what color family I'm discussion about.
Kitchen sounds cool.
Bathroom- i would go next to lighter shades of the colors you picked to keep the room bright and airy feeling. (bathrooms tend to be small and don't own good lighting-dark walls will only intensify these)
Livingroom sounds cool.
Bedroom- again i would move about with light shades of the colors you chose. (you want your place of rest to be soothing and peaceful-to bright of a color will be aware of busy)
