I'm buying curtains for my bedroom. My room is painted pale blue and has a caramel trim. Now, I go and looked at all the curtains and I've always like the light, breezy curtains.

The only problem is that they are liberal of sheer. Especially the ones I want, which are pale, pale mint. My mom said that getting them would ruin the point of curtains because you can see through them, but I'm not so sure.

Can you see through sheer curtains, similar to from a distance...like, enough to business?

Yeah, you can see through them. What in the order of layering plain sheers underneath them? Then you would have 2 layers of yard goods and that's harder to see through and would still give you a lighter effect. Yes you can. Can you get blinds for losing them? That way you still get the curtains you want but even so the privacy you need.

Sheer curtains lets flimsy in, but a bit less than not have them at all. You can see through them, but it looks nice! hahaha, but privacy is important, so I guess you could get hold of curtains at a different place with the same color or bring curtain to put behind your sheer ones, OR just cloak the sheers to make them thicker. Good luck =] Instead of putting two panels on your curtain rod, put three or four. This will receive the sheers fuller and give you more privacy. You may want to install shades or blinds behind them for times when you want to insure not a soul can see you in your room. Shadows do show up in the window at night!

Answers:    Hi, Yes you can see through them but you see more the shape than the full details of the person like a shadow. It depends on your personal privacy plane that you desire for some sheers alone are fine and others want total privacy. If you want more privacy you could always put a cellular shade or roman shade behind the sheers for privacy if desired and still own the great look of the sheers. Hope this helps.
