The bedroom I have presently is a lot smaller than the one I'm used to. Also, I'm not even allowed to paint it any color besides a colourless!

Do you have any creative accepted wisdom for storage/decor?

add a couple mirrors it will variety the room look bigger

you could paint the walls an off white or impartial color...
but add lots of colors to you bead spread and beside the pillows and blankets or like an nouns rug.. like a tot blue and a light purple.. use bead to hang from the door fo when you wallk surrounded by or for you closet! be creative!!

Also, if it's a parent who's insisting you paint it indistinct colors, what's the big deal? Are you just staying there for a few months? Otherwise, IMO, you should own the choice of colors, and just be prepared to paint over it when you head off.
