I am planning on pulling out carpet in den (12x12) and want to enjoy a polished/acid stained floor installed.
Can anyone give me a general model of the cost of this project. Below the carpet is wood. I will pull the mat myself and seal the flooring below due to pet odors.

Answers:    Concrete flooring over wood is not a pious idea unless it is in a underground store.
I would remove the carpet and clean the wood several times beside a pet urine detergent and put slate tile down.
It runs about $10. a square foot.
