I'm currently shopping for a painter to paint the interior of our
house (4 bedrooms - approx. 2000 sq ft.); got 2 estimates so far.

One of the estimates (the lower estimate) list what is included in the cost (materials etc.) and indicates "one coat and 2 coats where on earth necessary." Is it average to paint with one coat?
I be under the print that 2 coats is a standard and you cannot get the 'true' color next to only one coat.

All opinion welcomed. Thank you.
Answers:    its impressively rare for purely 1 coat even when it looks like 1 coat have covered we always put on a second for correct measure
even when its white on white for ceiling we use 2
your best getting 3 quotes and go for the middle price
ask for reference if there upright they should have some
if the first item they do on arrival is put down dust sheets you have a apt decorator.if they start work without dust sheets sling them out.
are u fine art the same color as the walls be before? if so one coat might cover over.if shifting color then most of the time it take 2 coats..if your going from dark to a lighter color afterwards 2 coats will be needed..if spray painting later a lot of the times 1 coat is needed again depends on color going over..depends on type of paint he's using..only don't pay until u resembling the look of the walls...if u can see spots then hold him add that 2nt coat because the estimate say " 2 coats where needed"
