What is the difference between wall paint and ceiling paint? Can't I just use remaining wall paint?
Also, should I prime the ceiling before sculpture? It's a textured ceiling, not popcorn.
The difference is in the sheen. Ceilings are usually, but expendable, painted with flat, and walls are usually, but not necessary, painted near satin or eggshell. It's all in the washability of the paint. Flat is almost impossible to dry-clean. No need to prime, unless DRASTIC color change. I don't reflect there is a difference! I've always used only paint. I think its a scam to get your money!
The with the sole purpose difference in paint is Interior and Exterior.
As long as you are painting next to Interior Paint on your ceiling and walls you are Golden!
The way in which you paint the ceiling is different as ably but only to the point of needing to wear a headdress to keep paint from splattering on your hair. You can buy a roller near a shield on it to help with the potential for splatter problems.
As far as primer I other prime walls and ceilings. Its a good dependence to get into as it will save you time down the file and if you have stains to cover up or crayon like my kids love to dish out around here I suggest getting Kilz Primer. Its the best stuff only just make double sure its Interior and not exterior.
Answers: Alot of ceiling paints they add a touch of tallow blue or lamp bl;ack to the formula of the white for hiding purposes..this is how they claim it to be "hi hiding'...The formula to Sherwin Willimas stabilizer is B-2...Which is for black..and 2 parts colorant to so many gallons..this is the 5 gallon additive... You will discern on alot of ceiling paints that they actually appear just a slight grey when applying and next go white when dried..this is because of the lamp black added to the productive white formula for hiding purposes.. Compoundly, it makes no difference if you use wall paint on the ceilings or not..Depending on the brand both enjoy the same acrylics and polymers of that particular brand...
