Carpet Squares?

I was thinking of making a rug for my dorm room out of carpet squares - does anyone know of any mode to:
a) connect the squares
b) where to get (nice looking) hearth rug squares?

Thanks so much!
Answers:    If you are refering to actual carpet squares (not carpet samples) after check out flor.com.
You can make all different looks by mixing up pattern and colors. Also, about 6 months ago, Target carried a box of carpet squares contained by a couple of different looks. Don't know if they still do buy they were also by Flor.
If you are talking roughly speaking sample carpet squares I own no idea. You could go to a place resembling Ollies or a place that sells cheap carpet remnants and get hold of a few squares. Then there is carpet cartridge for doing seams in homes and such that you use a special iron to put them on. You can rent these and sometimes even buy the cartridge from a place that rents equipment like pressure washers etc, I don't think a regular iron is hot ample. You could also get a very gooey needle and sew them together, it would take closely of very precise work though. It's a cool idea, but deeply of work and may end up costing you more than just buying a rug. you can't do that.. companies tolerate their customers borrow different colors and textures of carpet squares so they can choose which hearth rug they want to buy, so you might just want to buy a real rug
