Is it as simple as ripping it up and putting tiles in or will it call for specialist work?
You may need to put a different sub floor once you get that mat up. especially a bathroom where moisture is have been.
You can brand name the tile cuts yourself if you have some skill.
It's not the hardest item in the world to do but if you really are not handy at adjectives I wouldn't suggest tackling that situation.
Don't forget you need to hold up the toilet for about 2 hrs and lay your tile prperly near.
(there are lots of easier flooring if you look into it)

Ripping the mat up is fairly uncomplicated... the problem your going to run into is the tiling.
Tiles have to be cut next to a wet saw if your using the clay tiles. Cutting them to sizr is harder than I expected when I did my bathroom and when I got to the edges (like the wall edging and where on earth the toilet used to set) I ran into the tiles not fitting too economically. Once a cut is made there is no going wager on and as you know ceramic tiles are outstandingly expensive. It was easier to remove the toilet and replace it than it be to cut the tiles right. I'll never do that job agian alone! Good luck and hope this help!
Answers: It depends on the condition of the floor, if it's level and surrounded by good charge there shouldn't be a problem. It is customarily recommended that you line it near plywood to provide a good-even surface, especially if you have the elder type floor boards as opposed to the sheet boards used on modern houses..
If it is a wood sub-floor, put down cement board after taking out carpet, consequently install your tile. A concrete floor, you can just install the tile.
