Can you attain wood lighter? Having fitted bathroom with thaw out oak units. My present pane...

Having fitted bathroom with thaw out oak units. My present pane facing/sill are well done and I am reluctant to alteration. The wood is mahogony, satin varnished. I'm useless in the decorate field and wonder if nearby is a product you can by that stains lighter to match more next to the units and not ruin the wood? I don't want to of late paint over in a colour or use stuff close to Stain and Grain on good wood. Again probably trying to make mahogonay look close to oak is just not done? Any info would be appreciated and hope I am not posting a stupid query that everyone but me knows the answer to. Thanks to adjectives who reply.

Answers:    mahogany is a hard redwood
oak is a harder ashen wood...

and you can lighten mahogany, but it'll dance pink... NONE of the products on the market can adaptation red to yellow...

you could try a lime clean up, but in my experience itll be a lavish of time, effort and money...
Homecoming decorations?
you can try to strip the wood or sand it down and afterwards stain it a lighter color but it probably wont turn out that well. you will probably newly have to replace it but I am not really sympathy what wood you are talking nearly. Is it the moulding around the window?
