I am having my fresh place painted, and I want to avoid the expense of wall paper removal. Has anyone tried this? Is wall article removal expensive?
Answers: It depends on the wallpaper. If the wallpaper is in honest shape and the paint doesn't make the edges crust then it looks fine to paint over it. The problem is that you don't know if it's going to skin until it's painted. You might want to try painting a small sector where a seam is located and see what happen. As for wallpaper removal, personally I charge by the hour to do that since it's almost impossible to know how long it's going to steal. Again, depending on how well the wallpaper be put up, it can be an easy opportunity that's over fairly in a flash or it can be a time-consuming nightmare that never seems to finish off. There's no rocket science involved in removing wallpaper, if it's actual thesis then you newly apply Dif (a product that dissolves the glue astern the paper) and then basically peel it bad. If it's a water-proof paper later you'll need to chalk up the paper using a Paper Tiger (a tool that rolls over the wall making lots of tiny little holes contained by the paper) to allow the Dif to penetrate. Once the article is removed you have to wipe down the walls to remove the remaining bonding agent. There are more detailed instructions here.

It' s best to remove the wall paper first. The cost is not that much, and not to thorny to do.
