I presume you are within the UK, if so, thin typical gloss paint
(my predilection is Permaglaze) down with white spirit . As a rule of thumb you strong paint to be the thickness of single cream, but this also depends on the pressure you are spraying at and how friendly the nozzle on the gun is. Just thin it down to what you suggest is right, and then try it on a bit of board. Adjust pressure and nozzle to suit. If you bring an 'orange peel' finish, withered it down a bit more.
