Can I stamp the front paint on my glass sills? I live in a rental cottage that have lead paint on...
I live in a rental cottage that have lead paint on the pane frames. It's an old house and the paint is chipping. I can't move, and I can't repaint the porthole trim a different color (according to the landlord). Moving is not an option, but realistically, the other rentals surrounded by my area hold lead paint, too.
I enjoy two young children. Is within a clear sealant that I can paint on the trim? I'm sure I could get the landlord's concurrence. My daughter tested a 3 for lead, so I want to do something nearly those windows. She could be getting it from somewhere else, but I know they are a hazzard.
Thanks for your lend a hand.
Answers: This is absolutely the landlord's responsibility, no interview about it. The innkeeper is charged with providing a not detrimental and habitable to his/her tenant. Check next to your local housing office and ask them how to approach your tenant about making the repairs. They promising have a brochure on this subject and the law and penalties to which the proprietor may be subject. I would NOT give out the location to that organization, however, let your manager do the right thing BEFORE you aggravate him by bringing a housing inspector down on him.
Good Luck!
Depending on where on earth you live landlords can't rent to families next to young children if here is lead paint surrounded by the apartment. The landlord may entail to repair this. Check your state or federal requirments if in the US.
