I'm trying to paint a light well onto a wall that be dark purple... we primered over it once but the purple is still very much nearby. Should I put on a second coat of primer or just start painting next to my yellow? Only a few of the walls in the room are pitch-black purple the rest were ready to shift after being primered once.
I would prime it again. Primer is cheaper than paint and you really don't want that purple showing through the washed out. Uck.

You can prime as many time as you want. What I would do is a small little section surrounded by a corner with the yellow and see if it will cover the purple. It will be cheaper to make the addition of another coat of primer/sealer if you have it tinted as close to your final color as possible. When going form a dark to table lamp tint it may take as many as four or more coats. Good Luck
Answers:    Definitely do another coat, or two if you need to, you don't want any purple showing through your pallid!
