I am renting a townhouse and my bedroom has fawn wall to wall carpeting that I can not stand, the landlord wont permit me take up the runner. I thought I could buy a wall to wall mountain grass rug and the ugly mat would be gone plus I have hugely heavy furniture to hold it down.

Answers:    Sounds approaching a good theory to me. It wouldn't hurt to tack a few small (skinny) nails to keep hold of it from getting wavy and also, will not weaken the existing carpet and shouln't be difficult to remove. Will help out to protect your security deposit too!
