I think that a menacing brown would be very classy and modern. Espresso or cherry wood would look great! Good luck!! black?
You have a much bigger assignment than you think. Those cabinets are any a plastic laminate or Formica clad particle board.Painting them is difficult, as paint doesn't stick well. The edges are unequivocal grained painted particle board.
That Electric range you hold is a GE 27" drop-in range.I doubt you can get that size anymore (27").
Answers: I agress w/vinny...if that isn't wood, it's going to be a bear to paint. You might consider working w/them as is, but update the hardware, add a tile, metallic or stone backsplash, and pick a color that works w/those cabinates to engender them look more purpseful and part of the original plan, not somethong you couldn't afford to replace. Another risk would be to replace just the cabinet fronts w/new doors panels; possibly framed cup panels, or framed tin or metalic. Good luck.
I am not much a designer...so dont know if my opinion would help...I love the black look though. Black cabinet wiht like a greyish marble countertop. But yeah I can see why you want to get rid of those cabinet in tehre! : ) dark blue. i in reality saw a kitchen with orange walls and unlit blue cabinets. it looked super nice
You could stir with a deep red, red and black turn together, and it would go with the red you have on the walls.
The down side is what ever color you use there will be deeply of it so choose carefully.
Use a Formica primer base coat on the cupboards first this will grant you a mechanical key for the top color to stick to.
