http://ocayusa.googlepages.com -- we're going near whites on the majority of walls and were thinking about fine art dark brown for the trim and interior doors (staining not an option since doors can't be stained). Trim is minimal, in recent times 6" baseboards and 4" around doors. But I'm not sure, would dark brown trim and doors be too much? Should we just stick next to a complementary white?
white is best...neutral

I personally think brown sounds nice. In our children's play room, we hold blue (a bright but light baby blue) walls and white trim, it's nice to enjoy a little color in a room. You do want to put together sure, however, that the brown is the right color, make sure it will complement your furniture, if you have neutral color furniture, go with a pale brown and dark brown for dark furniture. Good luck. WOW! That house is AMAZING!

I prefer white trim or stained pure wood trim.

play around near the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I close to how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color familial & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color scheme. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look great if you paint the trim something like "plantation brown"(# 7520). But if you're afraid that might be too threatening, then maybe start near a lighter shade like "dhurrie beige" (# 7524).

You can also take a photo of your room & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can attain color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look close to.
