Answers:    Depends on what you're going for. You say 'rustic cabin'- are you looking for a connoisseur cooktop? At our last 2 homes we've have stainless steel Dacor cooktops- a 30 in 4 burner and in a minute a 36 in 5 burner. We love that within are several large burners and one have a very low simmer setting that's the lowest simmer I've ever used- and reasonably effective. We also get the bead-blasted surface which makes cleanup really effortless.

One issue with the 30 in- the knob have these nice bright blue indicator lights and one of them have gone out a couple of times. It's pretty minor- cause we love it contained by all other respects.
A cooktop is a cooktop. You can pay envelope a lot extra for spot on brand names but contained by the end adjectives you need is functionallity. Get something near the knobs at the front (so you don't own to reach over flames to turn it off) near the look you want and the configuration you want. The flames from a $300 one cook just as ably as the flames from a $1200 one.
