Answers: Red is my favorite color!!!!! I painted one wall in my bedroom red! I did a faux technique, that looks close to leather and it looks wonderful!
You didn't mention if you are on a budget......of course money is other an issue. I bought a paisley comforter that has duplicate red and in it but since it's paisley in that are many other colors. The environment color is black. Paisley is very boho and the best portion is that you have abundant other colors in the paisley to choose from.
I go to a local fabric store and bought some taupe gauze and sewed a cascade valance for over the bed that drapes over the four corners like a blind bed. It looks wonderful was natural, cheap and dramatic! ( and romantic)
Check out all the yard goods stores for fabrics on close out for coordinating fabric for the window treatments. Or check out the discount stores for flat sheet sets that you could trade name window treatments out of. You a moment ago can't get windowpane treatments as cheap as making them from sheets! You don't have to buy the most expensive sheets, your not putting your body on them! Low thread count is no big accord on the windows! And if you don't own a sewing contrivance or don't sew? Use "Stitch Witchery", you just iron the seam together with the bonding agent and your done!
Accessories are the fun bit.....but don't over spend. Definately a nice mirror and some artwork. Don't have lolly for artwork? Be brave and make your own near acrylic paints! You can customize the colors for the room and the rest of the fabrics! (Watch some the HGTV shows for philosophy on things you already have but could "update" for the room and it's style
What fun! Wish I could be here to help!
I guess long drapy things. Lots of colour and a bit of sparkle! I think dim purple goes next to red so purple curtains sound nice! Mirrors and artwork on your walls would be cool. You could also try slack curtains around your bed if you can!
