Bedding to budge next to burgundy hearth rug?? I'm registering for wedding gifts and I'm having trouble decide what color...
I'm registering for wedding gifts and I'm having trouble decide what color of bedding to go with the hearth rug in my master bedroom. The carpet is burgundy, the wall color is not a problem (I'm repainting sometime anyway) so pretty much anything go. I DO have two large mastiffs that drool for a while (haha) and love to sleep in the bed. This will not change. I'm pretty sure that white is out of the grill.
Thanks so much peeps!!
I agree that a duvet is a much better idea than a comforter. I also have a dog and our duvet does draw from washed quite repeatedly. I would recommend a patterned duvet (it won't show dirt as badly as a solid color) next to one of the colors being burgundy. Good luck on decorating and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! I have a carpet in my crucial bedroom where I used to live...i found a multi color comforter with the situation being goldish and burgundy & greenish colors in the design. I used a throw blanket contained by the burgundy to go over part of it..(I hold pets too) I just took it off and wash it regulary as needed.
i also used a dust ruffle.in gold.
Don't progress with anything blue - it will clash with the runner. Look for a Jacquard Duvet Set with gold, wine-red, amber, and deep magenta patterns. You're going to hold to go for warm, rich colors - nil silver or blue or 'cool' in any way.
I articulate get a Duvet set because if the dogs drool, it's easier to wash a Duvet cover than an entire comforter. Make sure to avoid beadwork if they close to to chew up things!
gold bedding
Here are some bedding sets that would look upright with burgundy. All are machine washable - so ok for the dog:

Answers: I personally dream up hunter green looks really good with burgundy, but really any shade of green would be complimentary.
Also eggshell blue, off-white, gold, ivory would work nicely.
Gray. The ultimate mate for burgundy. A dark gem blue color, or maybe a forest green
I agree near the duvet idea. Save yourself aggravation. Here are some of my picks to go contained by your new bedroom. You didn't say what size. Good luck! Go for a model that picks up the burgundy, but has other colors you like too. Then you enjoy flexibility for your walls and window treatments. Also with animals, prints will put away more.
