Bathroom paint color option? I entail inspiration!? We just moved into this house and spent a whole bunch of...

We just moved into this house and spent a whole bunch of money on other things so save for an immediate paint job, we cannot afford to do much. Although, within the long run, we will be redoing this bathroom entirely. The current color scheme is:
Maroon runner (yes, in most of the bathroom)
White tile floor (by the toilet and shower)
Grey toilet, shower and counter top
Chestnut colored wood cabinets, trim and doors
Grey walls

And no, I am not kid. I won't even tell you about the wallpaper borders.

I be considering going with a whole brown and grey color task (I saw some pictures in a decorator magazine with this - although it be a more modern bathroom), eventually changing all the flooring to earthenware chocolate colored tile, but I had also considered brown walls? Too much brown, especially with the wood trim probably.

So what giving of immediate fixes can I do? What kind of long permanent status fixes can I do in a gradual manner? Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
please don't do gray and brown...those two colors look horrible together...then start out small and get one entity at the time. start with a new toilet...or if you similar to the color of the toilet then i would get up to date cabinets (white ones) and then bring back a shower curtain to go with the color coordination. then you might wanna change the color of the runner (if you plan on keeping the carpet) otherwise, i would go to lowes and get some tile. they enjoy some really nice patterns in the roll out tiles.

first choose the colors you want and afterwards do a little bit at the time with that.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the pattern, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can look into by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most faithful, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a street light color like "sand dollar" (# 6099) would look great.

You can also take a photo of your room & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can bring color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look resembling.
Answers:    For the toilet and conceit ... look on Craigslist. com

Choose your state...your city .look at the 'For Sale' and click on building supplies

Here you will find used but still good stuff very cheap.

Wait until you find the fixtures you close to then choose what color to change the bathroom to.

Until after... I would pull up the carpet and break up the tile. Just attain it out of there. Then...go buy sticky tiles. These are comfortable to remove when your ready for the 'big change'. These will just be impermanent...they are very cheap, BUT come in tons of different colors. I would shift with just a plain white.or anything is the cheapest.

I would tear off the wall broadsheet and then prime the walls with KILZ primer. Then paint them white. From white you can rework the color to any color you wish later on.

You obligation to take the bathroom back to the brass tacks again. That way when you do go to the 'big change' you will be capable of start out right away doing what you want instead of having to start all over from score.
