My basement is constructed beside 12 inch block, just bought my house, it is 103 years older, looks like in attendance has be to improvements to the foundation. After a good precipitation, the blocks leak resembling crazy, you can actually see streams of wet coming out of the joints. Will I own to dig adjectives around the perimiter and retar the walls or is there an uncomplicated fix?? Some kind of spray or something I can use on the interior untill I can afford to fix this properly? Help me out!

unfortunatly theres no quick cheap fix. here are paints and various products on the flea market but they dont work, just ask the capitalist for a guarantee and they run a mile.
because of the amount of water penertration i would recommend have a cavity drain membrane system fitted. this involves fitting a plastic membrane to all walls and floor, around the perimiter of the underground room you have a drainage gutter that drains into a sump and pump which carries the hose down away from the basement. adjectives walls are dry lined and the floor screeded.

i would recommend you get a manufacturer guarantee as well as the contractor, basicaly if the contractor go broke your still covered by the manufacturer, plus the manufacturer will only make available guarantees when the work is carried out by an approved contractor, so you will get a appropriate job done.
digging around the perimiter is a pointless job because your still going to have to enjoy the walls waterproofed properly from the inside, this is because even if you stop the water penertration ground salt have contaminated the brickwork and will therefor never dry out properly.
