I just bought 150 feet of baseboard for my vault. The baseboard came pre-primed. I think a cheery stain would be the best, but can I still stain over the white primer or is paint my one and only option. I'm a newbie at this remodeling stuff still.

Thanks for any help you can extend.
Answers:    definately not! the baseboard is preprimed, which seals the grain..it will not run a stain..You need to buy RAW stain grade trim for proper use...Your just option is to paint it or return the baseboard and exchange for stain grade..which will be at tiniest 50% higher..depending on the type of wood you get..
you probably can but it won't look right because (I'm assuming) the particle is mostly gone from being primed..
you can either strip the primer, try to return/exchange the baseboards or purely paint them a solid colour.. I'd probably just paint them a solid colour similar to the cherry wood, they're on the floor so chances are not a soul will notice that they aren't stained wood anyway.. The reason it's primed is that it's inferior. Not a unpromising thing, but finger joints, etc. You must paint it, or buy up to date.
