I have been permitted to an apartment that includes everything but electric. I have found out that the the heating is baseboard heat. I called about the current electric bill and they give me an average of 45 dollars a month. How much more could I be looking at? It's a two bedroom, top floor apartment.
Rent is 750 a month and my budget is 800...Is this a bad idea?
Answers: You are really adjectives it close on your budget amount. It is good that you are on the top floor in the winter, however it is going to be really hot within there in the summer and later you will need the air conditioner on. I would shop around a bit to see if at hand is any apt. less expensive. Something more affordable is a better way to stir. Is a one bedroom sufficient for you? Maybe you would consider that, or what about a room mate to share expenses with? Something to regard as about.
Electric baseboard heating is rather expensive compaired to other forms, including a heat pump. If you don't mind a cooler, in winter apt., and can live next to that, Okay. I would be very leary of the $45. budget amount. Ours was just about double that years ago in a small space. The only flawless part is "top floor"...heat rises!
