Ok am I the only one, or isn't the concept of this show kinda dumb?
People are buying old fixer uppers a short time ago to redo it.that part doesn't bother me...but the certainty that Barry Woods comes up with these expensive *** prices to remodel rooms in the homes.
The architect/designer Paige seem more reasonable with her estimates. She would stay path under the persons budget. Barry otherwise moves kitchen and bathrooms, and its just ridiculous to me.
His hand movements also annoy me...sometimes the potential homeowners look authentic disappointed with the estimates he presents to them
Answers: I agree, I really think he go for the curved walls and ideas that will be dated in 10 years and cost that are unwanted.
Why do they need glass tile?
Paige is more faithful with what they have to do.
I did hold some fun explaining to my wife what I would do to our house mocking Barry's body crouching & movements and arm waving.. she got a big giggle.
I watch HGTV almost exclusively and I can tell you that I switch channel when his show comes on now. He is so over the top on some jobs he does. Sometimes the layout surrounded by a bathroom is just fine and he still changes it. He seem to do everything more contemporary and not traditional. Also, the outside of the house is ignored a lot and some of those houses look similar to dumps on the outside and castles on the inside. He's an architect and wants to move walls no business what the cost. I agree he seems to do rennovations that the Designed to Sell team would come within and say would have to stir if they want to sell the house. Sometimes there are ways to remake the space without going to the extent Barry does. And, you've got to wonder, how several of the home buyers actually get a mortgage approved contained by this market to include the remodels he designed.
