Answers:    Yes, cast iron is the best fabric. It is strong and holds heat well. It will not bow or flex later, causing cracks approaching plastic or fiberglass. With the finish being baked on, it will hold up better over the years. Don't be confused with name like Americast, as they are not cast iron.

There will never be a better bits and pieces for a bath tub than cast iron. Yes its big but a cast iron roll top bath tub, style and glamour. If you hold a normal bath tub made of kind iron and you are going to box it in you may as well catch a fibre glass or resin tub. Just as suitable and when you insulate them they keep the bath thaw for ages
