Answers: With free design software, the "scan in" types with the sole purpose allow you to change the color/texture of floors and walls. Most standard programs can't erase your furniture and include new pieces. Your home is actual, to add/move pieces around (for the basic/free online programs) both the room and the pieces enjoy to be virtual to work(ie, closely resembles "the real thing" but animated,similar to you see on playstation games and the sims) The programs that offer the better techno option (ie uploading your own pics) are usually expensive ones, if you have a significant decorating project, that's going to lug some time, you may want to buy the software to use on your computer.
I used interior design software (bought it on sale at a local store) to design my ex's house, some years ago, they are more advanced beside more types of furniture to add, immediately.
Here are a couple of sites that allow you to pick a style/size room or add your rooms dimensions, and make a payment furniture, flooring, paint, etc...
