We are considering flooring options for our house. Its in the region of 1000 sq ft max. I am considering laying ourselves fairly than paying the extra money even though it would be a lot of work. I love the look of the really roomy terracotta-type/stone tiles like 24x24 or bigger even. I resembling them on a diagonal too. Is it cheaper or easier to lay bigger tiles than smaller and is it worth the headache to lay them diagonally? How long would the job lift?
Answers: I always lay tiles on the diagonal. It is so much more visually appealing. Yes it is a great deal more work becasue you have to cut every tile along the edges, but I contemplate that you will be happier with the result.
If you lay it on the diagonal, it will probably double the time spent. I find it like mad quicker to lay the bigger tiles. you obviously finish off up cutting smaller number tiles and measuring the cuts, but sometimes they are harder to work beside. Some saws are not big adequate to cut large tiles on the diagonal, so trade name sure you rent one that is appropriate fo rthe errand. If I were lay that much tile, I would estimate 12-16 hours depending on how many obstacle you have to work around. which would include grouting. Obviously everyone works at different speeds, especially if you are doing it for the first time.
I would noticeably do it yourself. It is a very flowing task once you obtain the hang of it and at hand is a lot of infor on how to do it....
