We're waiting to hear back something like an apartment we're trying to get. I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to paint, so i'm trying to consider ahead about ornamentation ideas. The floors are hardwood contained by the livingroom and the bedroom, which is off of the livingroom. Both of those rooms hold very elevated ceilings and window.
when you walk contained by to the apartment there is a counter/divider almost shoulder height and the small kitchen is on the other side. it's fluffy blue.
all of the other walls are white.
any nice philosophy for decor on a budget? color schemes to hand over each room it's own look even though the walls will adjectives be the same? fanlight treatments?
something to put on that divider? it's too narrow for middle-of-the-road counter space. probably about 6 inches huge.

ably it helps to know what you own to start with but next to tall ceiling i like to dance floor to ceiling with the curtains and most of the decor starts next to a wise placement of your furniture self be happy to transport you some photos of my own home to give you some cheep philosophy

Answers: It definately depends on your taste, your style and what your favorite colors are. For example, I close to a clean and simple style. For white walls I would step with neutrals. Soft browns or taupes. Then I would join a bit of color. I like browns next to soft blue, but that is a moment ago my taste.
Go to the store and pick a curtain that you really similar to and go from in attendance. Or find a throw, pillow or picture that you really adore and decorate from that.
A word of wariness with white walls...when walls are painted white, huge pieces in the room that are brightly colored will echo onto the walls, giving them a different cast. For example, a red sofa will product white walls appear softly pink. Keep this in mind when choosing your colors.
The same will ensue with curtains, which is why I prefer impartial colors. Imagine full sun coming through a window near a curtain that is red, red or lime green. Just be careful next to those bold strong colors. If you want them in the room use them on smaller pieces. If you enjoy a bold colored vase that you really love, it might bring lost in a room beside lots of bold color or patterns. If it is within a neutral room it will really stand out and become a focal point.
