i have two bed average sized house within lancs. i wanr to have brand latest carpets supplied and fitted. how much should i be paying to buy deep cord and how much to fit? and what if i buy a cheap "twist pile"/ any philosophy to get costs down as cheap as poss minus using cowboys?
what ever the price of the hearth rug is, double it if you want them to fit it.
can you fit it yourself? if so you can afford a decent runner
You can buy the runner reasonably adequate, fitting it always pushed the price up i find.
Research getting the hearth rug supplied & fitted by say mat right/allied etc (you will need to present them room dimensions) also just the hearth rug price itself - dont forget underlay. But if you currently hold it keep it and purely replace carpet. I believe you can get runner between lb5-8/sq metre however you pay for what you get hold of to a point. Think do you need to repeat every room?
Then get the pale pages - or preferably find someone to recommend a couple for you - and get them over to quote price for fitting individual (supplying new grippers if needed etc)
Answers: You get what you reward for regarding the point of the carpet.
ie a pure wool fire resist runner will wear longer.
A cheap carpet will not closing very long and you may expire up having to replace it reasonably quickly.
Cowboys are costly.
You could preserve the cost down by fitting yourself although if you buy a good power carpet that will closing a lifetime you will likely seize free fitting included in the cost.
