We got the genuine black granite. When we got ours installed at hand was a cloudy spot (about 12" by 12") subsequent to the sink. We FINALLY got somebody from the company to come and buff it out today. As he be buffing it he was proclivity on the counter and it cracked. I'm just curious if anybody else have had a similar problem?
They wrecked it so I'm sure they will install a trial one.....I hope....
Answers: Yes very possible that near was a flaw....but I also feel there may be a slightly not the same surface underneath which when pressed on, forced it to break. When the counter is replaced, make sure you are at hand to see underneath.
These things cost a fortune so you want to be sure it doesn't happen again!
Phone and speak beside the manager (ONLY) and go and get their guarantee that they will replace the counter and on what date. You do not want to have to skulk until spring! If it is possible, get it contained by writing. That way you enjoy recourse if they don't do as they said. "Would you please have your secretary distribute that in writing?" Strike while the iron is hot. Don't hang around for them to contact YOU. It is doubtful they will as it took so long to get them to come pay for to buff it in the first place.
If your local article has a sort of "performance line" column, and the countertop company doesn't come through, given proper time, tell the company you are going to write to that column because you are exceptionally disappointed in their paucity of customer service. This usually puts the fear of God into them and they will be out within before you hang up up the phone.
It sounds like it wasn't supported properly. The stress within the top must have already be fairly dignified and when he leaned on it it cracked. Just leaning on a properly installed top would not enjoy caused it to go amiss.
