Answers: 1) I have a BFA amount that took 4 years to complete. In some schools, you can bring a degree within Interior Design (what I have) or Interior Decorating. See http://www.uwstout.edu for a school beside both majors.
2) It is something I always considered necessary to do. It takes tough work to build up your reputation and keep the clients coming contained by. A degree, internship, and professional affiliations will minister to (ie, ASID, IIDA, NKBA)
3) Yes, it is a demanding job. You work on tight deadline, and contractors as well as clients can be easier said than done on you sometimes! It's not like HGTV.
4) As a designer, you entail to be up on current trends all the time, so near really isn't extra research for each room. Most of your information will come from the client and his desires and needs. You may obligation to research a product here and there for the best entity to meet those wants.
5) We meet near clients, contractors and suppliers to create functional and beautiful home and work environments. We coordinate projects by hiring installers, order product, figuring pricing, calculating square footages and more.
6)Your inspiration comes from the clients desires, first. Magazines are another way to attain inspired.
7) If you want to be. Usually, a designer is more involved in these things than a decorator. A decorator is not licensed to move walls (even on paper), while a designer is. You may move furniture, if you proposal that service, or not.
