Answers:    you could use a miter box if you arent doing a together lot. if you are doing alot of trim, i would just budge buy a cheap 10" miter saw. it definitely make the work go quicker.

Not really any tricks. Just trade name sure that when you measure you know where on earth to cut. most of your angles are going to be a 45 but some may be a little sour. Take you time on this if you rush it will look bad.
