I have a third floor apartment within Sydney and I have hear that there are law relating to foot fall din that may prevent me from tiling the floor. Can anyone tell me if more or less these laws or where on earth I can find a copy of them?
Answers:    Do you rent or are you the owner?

If you rent, the answer is probably "heck no", because landlords don't want you to sneeze on the walls let alone tile the floor. If you own and it's a condominium, your condo corporation (or doesn`t matter what the equivalent in NSW is) will know how to provide you with that information.

If adjectives else fails try the City of Sydney's Planning and Building Approvals branch at 02 9265 9751. They may not know how to answer your question directly but they'll know who can.

(I suddenly realize I'm assuming this is Sydney, Australia, and not Sydney, Nova Scotia. Let me know if I'm wrong.)
You may want to check near the building management. Where I live contained by NY, 75% of the usable floor surface must be covered with rugs or hearth rug, which allows for a tile kitchen and bath.
