Answers:    I only finished having polished granite installed within my condo. My neighbour (old Sicilian tile setter) changed my mind about marble. (that be my first choice). He said it is too soft, scratches well and difficult to maintain. I have marble in the front entrance and it really didn't look markedly good. The granite is spectacular. Including the silencer under-pad, installation and granite tiles.......more or less $ 34 / sq. ft.

I suggest polished granite because it is easier to maintain. Wet mopping is ample to clean it while marble is more expensive and difficult to profess, unless it is high polished. Marble floors are also susceptible to molds.
