I'm repainting my room currently and had originally planned to paint my closet (which is not walk within, but is an open area surrounded by the room without a door) but am now not sufficiently expert to. I still want the closet walls, which will be very visible from anywhere surrounded by the room, to have color though. Is there something that I could put up or droop on the walls that's less permanent that I could use?
Why don't you try draping some fabric. That way when you call for to remove it, it won't damage the wall. Here are a few pictures to help you out:

I have this on my organization walls now and it is beautiful.
Take juice starch,a bucket, and a heavy or thin material of your choosing.
Put the fabric in the bucket of juice starch.Get every bit wet.Wring it out,Put it on your wall, use a squeegee to make it smooth. If it tries not to stick, save working with it a little longer and it will. The results are gorgeous. And when you want to take it down, just trim it off,no marks,no color,a moment ago the same old wall you started near.Try this on a part of the wall with a cloth scrap, small.Once you get the droop of it,which is about ten minutes)let it completely dry, look at the results the next time. You'll love it.Good Luck.
Answers:    Try limp curtain panels or fabric. If here are no doors and you want a splash of color you could always hang colored sheer panel across the area. There's cool hardware you can get for pretty cheap that will allow you to do it, even if it's impossible to put up a curtain rod. I cogitate the hardware I am referring to is called "curtain wire" or "curtain cable"
There's also a curtain track that you put on the ceiling http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...
You can use material with fabric starch or tissue daily and watered down school glue next you can remove it with water and a plastic scraper. Good Luck! Well, you could use contact article, but it probably won't look very good, so I would newly paint it if you can.
