Most of my other furniture and decor is black metal. I own one painting that is red black and white, lots of rush baskets, and a white and birch wood couch.
My original plan was to do it gray since my bed is white but I'm have second thoughts. Any ideas?
Here are some of the items in my apt...

Since it looks like your furniture is from a neutral color palette I estimate you could paint your walls almost any color. I had an interior design instructor tell me that when decorate you should pick the paint color last. Use the painting you own or another piece that inspires you and chose one of the colors in the artwork for your wall color. You don't have to clash the colors exactly. Pick up a few paint cards that have the same color within the painting and then several colors contained by varying shades. Then you can pick a color that is in alike family but does not match exactly. Hope that help! Since the only dramatic color in your room sounds close to it's red, you are getting stuck because of one picture. If you change that you can have lots of choices. I regard as you have lots of cool things and could have a really sophisticated look if you painted the walls a wispy blue or aqua. With black and white accents, your room will look crisp and clean. Consider something close to this:

gray and bedside light woods clash, to my eyes at least. in my evaluation, soft light green sounds more friendly than gray. u can paint beige or frothy pink. or u can go for all night light pastel shades.
Answers: play around near the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I approaching how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color kith and kin & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color scheme. You can literally spend hours:

I think you definitely inevitability a slightly darker color b/c white or tan would freshly wash out your furniture. I think I would choose a blue similar to "labradorite" (# 7619). Very nice with the white wicker.
