I have purely added a plasterboard stud wall to my current wall in my bedroom , as i enjoy noisy neighbours i used 30mm battons next to polystrene in the gap i have the used 15mm aural plasterboard , this has reduced the disturbance but not a lot , would adding up another layer of 15mm aural plasterboard on top help surrounded by noise redcution any more ?? I be also thinking maybe of count a layer of runner tiles or something simaler between the two layers of plasterboard would this backing ??? . all suggestions wellcome .
Thanks
Answers: The wonderful is a metal wall system including a resilient bar to mount the plasterboard. The plasterboard fixes to the spring-like resilient hotel in turn fixed to the stud. This reduce the acoustic verbs because the plasterboard has minimal contact next to the wall or floor.

At this stage you say you are considering runner tiles between layers of plasterboard. By far the best aural insulator is fibre-glass. (aka acoustic wool) Due to all along the glass fibre the sound have a long way to travel to carry through the material.
If you are competent to put a substantial layer between plasterboards this should use up acoustic verbs but sound will verbs between layers through your wall fixings.
