Answers:    Try asking the girls what they like. Go to a store, such as Lowe's, and ask them for suggestion. There are books and magazines that cover this topic quite capably.
For my opinion, I'd use light shades of green, or blue since the bedroom is a place for sleeping, and to relax within. Bright colors, such as red tend to excite, rather than to soothe. The pastel colors would be a good source to choose from. As for decorations, lift a look at what they find interesting, and find sources for those things. Disney is very much into that age group. if the girls close to a certain thing, such as a color, or a singer, or a picture, you can use that to start a focus. when i was redoing my room, i picked my favorite color for the walls and next went from there to find decorations that i also like and that went with the room color
