We had a drain overflow (nasty drain), which leak wastewater all over our driveway. It happen twice, both times it was unblocked. I disinfected everywhere TWICE, driveway, house, carpet etc, even the cars (the leak go unnoticed for a number of days).
Both times, we have no problems inside, but our neighbours did, they experienced a backup. Anyway, it's been cleared immediately, no signs of overflow again, but our neighbours have be away anyway so they wouldn't know! With the heavy rainfall (not flooding in my area), I'm startled it has packed up again and leaked over the driveway. I don't want to be worried every time it rains that sewage is flowing onto our drive lacking us knowing! Again, there is no evidence of this, I'm purely paranoid (rightly so! I'm a very hygienic personality!). Would you clean the drive again and disinfect the house (shoes may own walked surrounded by the area and after into the house)?
I just don't know what to do!!
Sounds as if the town has the pipes a bit mixed up! You may stipulation to call a councilman and explain the situation! how ancient is the part of town you live surrounded by and check and see when the sewer lines were replaced... if ever! it dosn't nouns that great. but only cleanup is needed if it floods.
By your own admission, you are paranoid.
We are adjectives too hygenic and sterile these days which is why society get sick with minor ailments.
Edit: In the UK, the sewage system go to sewage works. That is the nasty one. Rainwater is collected within separate pipes which end up surrounded by brooks and rivers.
Answers: You obligation to find out what's causeing the blockage if it happens again. If it be a surface water drain it might be motionless leaves etc. If it was the foul sewer it could be stuff flushed down the loo that shouldn't own been, or congealed overweight etc. When the drain is cleared you may be able to see what the blockage be. Then you can take support to prevent that material getting into the drain contained by the first place. I think you are indeed human being totally paranoid washing adjectives your carpets and disinfecting the house - loosen up and live somewhat!
