I use tide with bleach alternative already surrounded by the bottle. I use downy with a flowerly close to smell, then i dust them on the regular cycle in my washer. As soon as it is done wash, i dry them 2 times on the damp dry setting for a total of 50 minutes. I've tried shifting fabric softeners, nil helps. The clothes don't smell doomed to failure, they just smell similar to fabric softener, but not a apposite smell.

You can only smell it right subsequent to the shirt, not from far away.

Answers:    Try dryer sheets instead of the liquid softeners.:)

don't use material softener... it makes my clothes smell ruinous when my mom uses it on mine
