No matter how much me mop, scrub, blowtorch the floor at work the floor will just not come verbs at all. I'm sick of it looking so horrible. Any inexpensive tips? Thank you!
my mom would buy the really cheap BIG bottles of Poroxcide from the Dollar store and pour on let set a few minutes after mop or soak up with a rag..She said it really pulled "bubbled" up anything stuck contained by the crevices.
Also you can put baking soda on the floor and pour white vinigar over it, this willl cause a bubbly effect and there fore also back pull out any dirt.
If none of this works then it is in that to stay. sorry
If it's really linoleum (I ask because of the blowtorch reference, which would have melt the linoleum) and there is more discoloration than just surface stains, it's probably for always discolored underneath the wear layer. Linoleum is made with a vinyl wear cloak that includes the coloring. Underneath that is a kind of plasticized cardboard finance. If the vinyl gets stained or the backing become discolored, you can't do anything except replace it.
If the linoleum is not textured, you can just lay another layer of linoleum over it short removing it first. I ripped out the kitchen floor in a house I was remodeling and literally found 5 layer of different linoleum that had been built up over the years (house be built in 1946).
1) Steaming Hot water in a bucket
2) Gloves
3) An inexpensive scrubber brush
4) Mr Clean/ Bleach
5) A handkerchief
Just scrub.
Your floor may be stained with dirt to the point of no return.. Linoleum isn't the best quality.
You can buy a "deck brush" at Lowe's. It's a scrub brush without the knee issues! Hehee I've have that problem before, and it's just that within are very small indentions in the linoleum. Goodluck! A bucket of river, a can of old-fashioned powder comet, a scrub brush and knee pad! Good luck!
Answers: Hot water and ammonia. Spread it on, agree to it sit for a minute then mop up. The ammonia will break down any wax residue that's on the floor that may be holding onto the dirt, keeping the linoleum dirty no matter what you do. Once you clean with the ammonia solution, the floor will look dull when it dries, so have a bottle of floor wax on paw to give the floor a shiny finish. Future floor wax or Mop 'n Glo work well. I give attention to Mop 'n Glo is cheaper.
