Answers: Don't PAY. it's an easy problem to fix yourself. I have the same problem a week ago. ( husband left pen contained by pocket) I used a rag with a tiny bit of bleach on it( put rubber gloves on first) and the ink come off easily, after I rinsed the bleach off. I found it also freshened the dryer up.
i guess about 200-300 dollars... i don't really know how much it costs specifically, but if you try and do it yourself, don't use any flammable liquid. you'll probably do good with soap and marine, but don't put too much soap and water in it because you would break it. =) my husband used to put pen in the washer. it made me so angry because it would get adjectives over his clothes. but it will work perfectly fine, you are right about that...
