Answers:    Jansport backpack are really well made. If within is leather on it, you can't wash it, however. If in that is a covered cardboard piece in the bottom that help hold it's shape, you will probably want to remove that since getting the cardboard wet inside the covering will make a mess. I enjoy washed my son's surrounded by the washer and just thrown it within the dryer. They last for years.
