Answers:    Go to a home improvement store and return with a cleaner specially designed for your type of stove. You may be able to find a plastic scraper that would assistance you get past its sell-by date the spots, but usually with those kind of stoves, once they're on for a long time, they're permanent. Please do NOT use metal or a brush because you will RUIN your stove. Good luck!

What is a flat top stove? Your black spots mist be cooked wreckage from...sugar, sauce or what not. Try mineral oil sitting on your spots for the dark. If you can use a metal scrubber without scratch the surface, try it on. Otherwise, try a wet verbs rag and scrub your heart away! A grinder near a gentle brush might do the trick too!
