I need one that wont steal the color away from my clothes, the fabric wont ruin after a couple of wash, and the black will stay black, not dark grey. And I want one that I won't need to use partly the bottle on one wash, it have to last. All comments will be appreciated thank you.

Answers:    The best detergent depends on the sort of dirt you have.
I use anything is cheapest because we don't have TRUE dirt. We both work in jeans and t-shirts but save for a little sweat, in that is not mud or oil or other difficult dirt to return with out.

Always use cold water, and use a touch less than they recommend. Your clothes will later longer and fade less if you don't wipe them every time you wear them. You can wear clothes four or five times without wash them if you will throw them in the dryer beside a damp towel and a material sheet inbetween to freshen them up.

If your clothes are really really dirty, put the soap in the washer next to warm sea but no clothes. The soap will dissolve. then include your clothes and change the hose temp to cold for the remainder of the cycle.

I don't know if it will do all you are asking, but I swear by Tide and I'm not a brand shopper any, but it works really well. I've used it for 20+ years. Some of the problems you describe could be cause by how the clothes are washed.
