just rent a rug doctor and steam clean the mat if you don't want to make a big investment. steam cleaners work really good but you usually own to shell out more money for a good one. i've gone through two already and i'm tired of spending money on them! Yes they do, but only for maintnence job. If your carpet is really bad and stained I would get hold of it professionaly cleaned, then buy one of those carpet cleaners to protract it every 2 months or so.

Answers:    I have a Bissel Proheat carpet steamer and it works drastically well. It uses hot water and have a built-in heater to keep the marine hot. By the combination of a good sale and Rewards coupons, I get for it around $100 at Best Buy. It was a great investment, one I definitely do not regret. If your mat is light beige and severely dirty, it might take extra effort to verbs it the first time (spot treating, going over the same area more than once, etc.), but after that you can simply use your steam cleaner once a month or so for upholding.
