I read on an online site that using Oxyclean together with Biz will do a great post cleaning old linens. However, nowhere be it mentioned that it was okay to do this surrounded by a washing device. The directions said to soak in a tub of wet. Does anyone know if there would be any issue doing this contained by a washing contrivance?
If you can put it in a tub of hose down then you can do like thing.
power floor detergent clean first as fine as soft who ever says they don't verbs well does no know anything. I use powder detergent and i never have a problem.
I don't see why not. you should know how to let it soak contained by washer. add vinegar to final rinse..that will disolve anything is left of the powder..and if the sheets are colors, the vinegar will lend a hand keep it from declining.
they may have said tub, because some vote that powders aren't good for your washer and they don't rinse out of fabric as well....**unless you use vinegar within final rinse ;o)
Answers: Sounds like a changeability on Martha Pullen's "Biz bucket", which she uses for non-heirloom cottons and linens, changing the soaking solution every morning.
The Biz formulation I know is a mixture of various enzymes and sodium perborate bleach. I don't presume I'd add Oxyclean (which is a sodium percarbonate bleach) to that mixture -- 1) it may "kill" the enzymes contained by the Biz and 2) it essentially duplicates the bleaching action of the sodium perborate.
Shouldn't be an issue of soaking contained by the washing contrivance, other than it would tie up your washer, possibly for days.
