It sounds close to you get sidetracked effortlessly (which is totally my problem too), and I have some recommended reading for you.

Answers:    1. Take everything (yes, everything) out of your room. Bring it into the vault or other empty room. Sort through everything and GET RID of everything you no longer use/wear/read. Any keepsake like photos, tot clothes etc. can be put into plastic bins, and stored away in th attic, underground room, etc.
2. OK, now for the stuff you are keeping:
~books: since your room is forsaken, neatly stack your books into the shelves. I close to putting them in charge of color, it looks nice. If you don't have one, a magazine rack would be a great investment. If it's not an choice, some magazine/paper boxes will keep them nice.
~toys and other small stuff: for stuffed animals, have them lined up on a shelf, or even put surrounded by a hanging rack or a hammock will hold on to them clean and nice. For smaller toys/items, storage boxes (found at any flawless furnishing store) can keep them sorted and nice looking.
~clothes: OK, your closet is isolated, right? Good. Fold all your T-shirts, long sleeved shirts, and reservoir tops put them in a dresser drawer in recent times for tops. Hang up any dressy tops that may wrinkle easily. Hang up jacket, dresses, etc. Fold all jeans, sweat pant, and shorts. Put those into another dresser drawer. Hang up dress pants and long skirts. Now hold all underwear, socks, pajamas, etc. Put into separate drawers. *tip* hold on to socks and belts in baskets surrounded by a closet shelf!
~ electronics: any stereos can be kept on a shelf. I pods, cameras etc. can also be kept on a shelf, of in a drawer, or box within the bookshelf.
~ items to keep on display: pictures can be hung on a bulletin board. Fun display items can be kept on the pane sill or special shelve set.

You MUST have:
a bulletin or dry erase board (with magnets or thumbtacks)
a calendar and clock
a couple items that can be used to store things
a to-do detail note wad, hung by your calendar

Your cleaning routines:
before bed:
clear a vow to yourself that you will take 5-15 minutes respectively evening to tidy up your room, write in to-do items for tomorrow, diary things on your calendar, fold clothes, etc. This will keep everything from becoming one BIG whopper of a mess. Also lay out your outfit for tomorrow, and pack books away for university, so you're ot rushed in the morning.

straighten up your desk so it is set for homework tonight, check calendar/to-do list.

other:
every Friday, verbs out your back pack and locker, clutch home and file ancient papers, throw out garbage.

Do not put this past its sell-by date, find a day to merely DO it, you will thank yourself.
